I currently have a 29 gal. with some african cichlids: a pair of kenyi, and three electric yellows. Firstly is this a good setup or not. Secondly (if it is good) could i add more or is this too much.

Lastly, would any breeding occur in this tank? I was actually planning on getting a breeding set of cichlids, but i thought i would go with a stocked tank first. So would there be a chance of some babies or probably not.

the kenyi will get too aggresive and considering that the males become yellow as well, the yellow labs would probably be in big touble, plus there would be only room for one male kenyi in the tank. You can do the yellow labs in the tank with no prob, but you should probably stick to the one species and yes they will breed with no problems.

If you really want another species in there you might be able to get away with one of the dwarf mbuna like afra or demansoni. Provide alot rock and caves.

Keep in mind that these cichlids do not form breeding pairs and the ideal setup for breeding would be 3F to every male.

I really suggest you do some research if you want to keep Mbuna b/c they require some different aspects than your normal freshwater setup

By all means marry; if you get a good wife, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.
