hey guys,i have a pair of tipicle cons(aquarium rabbits),well the female is alot smaller than the male,but each batch of eggs she is laying keeps getting bigger,now i know as the fish grows,so will the batches of eggs,but in terms of the amount of eggs she is laying, she is tiny,even when i showed my partner she said wow that little fish layed all thosed eggs,im a little worried as the batches just keep on getting bigger,for example,my little female con,is nearlly laying as bigger batch as my female blue acara,and she is 3 times the size of my female con.it mite be nothing,and im probly being a bit paranoid,what do you guys think,do you think i should try and stop them spawning,or slow them down a bit.there is nothing wrong with her,she is thriving,its just what i said above that im a bit concered with.also this will be like the 6th batch,1 after the other,they have been spawning for ages it seems.

Sounds perfectly normal for convicts.
Often as females age their egg clutches get larger until
they reach a peak size where they will stay for the duration of the females young adult life.
Sounds like your Cons are doin what they were born to do.
I dont think theres any way, or even need, to try to slow them down.
Just make sure you have someone to buy the fry.
Petstores here no longer buy Convict fry at all because the market is overwhelmingly swamped with them. But they do take them for free and sell them about 1-2 dollars each when they are grown.

A female convict in good condition can lay 2,000 eggs. Most of which will be fertile. The fecundity of your Convicts is a sign that they're VERY happy with their living conditions. Which means you should be giving yourself a pat on the back instead of worrying!

ok thanx guys,i was just worried she mite be exusting herself or something along those lines.but im no longer worried.it still amazes me to watch the whole spawning process,ive seen it more times than ive had hot dinners,but its stilla thing to behold/:'
