Hey again my african tank has no room left because everyone has grown alot in the past year, i have a vast zebra collection and electric yellow/blue..... well it isnt exactly my tank it is a friends it is 5 ft and has alot of 7 inch africans and he wanted to get rid of his Metriaclima estherae. He said he didnt want to talk to the fish stores because they would try to rip him off . Anyways me and him were wondering how much a pair of 4" Metriaclima estherae should be worth for reselling

Cheers

Ridiculous post IMO, however the answer you are looking for is about £10 each for adult females, so about twenty american dollars.

Might try the classified section of this site. (make sure you put your Country/city in the subject)

Good luck making room.

Mez' estimate is a bit high if I may say so. This is a very common cichlid and they go for $5 at my fish club. On the other hand, I have no idea how common they are in AUS. Post and you will see (or check aquabid, you might get an idea how much people are willing to pay for these fish in your location).

In an Aus fish store, you would easily pay $10 or more, Even though, yes, they are common, that's what you'd pay. None of my Africans, all juveniles, cost less than $10 (most between $12 - $15 per fish). Adults would cost a bit more. Twice a year in Sydney NSW the cichlid society has an auction, where you might buy & sell them for less. Fish clubs aren't so common or popular here in Aus, catdancer. Not enough people interested enough to attend. The NSW Discus Society is a good example, having folded last year (shortly after the purchase of "the patient" ) due to lack of interest. Forums may have contributed to their decline - people find it so easy now to get & share info on-line, no need to drive a fair way from home to a meeting.

Having said this, IMO you won't get full price selling them 2nd hand. My LFS gives you 50% of what he retails them for, in store credit. I really don't mind that deal at all, saves the hassle of trying to find a buyer yourself.

Good luck with selling your spares.

Cheers

Most fish stores around here give you 25% store credit. 50% you'd be doing really well
