Hello,

I have got a problem with a female krib. She is a couple of years old and just over an inch. The problem is she will not tolerate ANY other fish. She just harrases them all the time and kills them. I have tried putting in a couple of big male kribs with her but she does the same to them. I have removed her from the tank rearranged the rocks plants etc, then put the males in and then her and she still does it. No matter what fish big or small!! I now have her in her own little tank that I use for breeding but need that tank for some young swords I have breed. Any advise on what to do with her?

Thanks

Well, maybe she just wasnt interested in the male kribs, and maybe you should try and try again to find the one male krib that she likes. Its hard to find a match for kribs.

Or, what you can do is, get a larger tank and keep her in there, letting you also have other fish too. As long as she has her territory, shell be fine.

Good luck!

Can you explain more the tank that the Krib is in?. Size of tank, tankmates, hidingplaces etc.

Hyperaggressive kribs arent uncommon, I hade a male that would tear into the opposite sex and he was in a large aquarium, I tried him with 4 different females until it became clear that he would simply kill anything I tried with him, so rather than become a fish serial killer I stopped and let him live out his life in community with bigger unrelated fish. He seemed to like it that way.
