I would stick with a betta..he would be perfectly content in a nice large house all to himself. Nothing else would truly work in there 72 gallon bowfront:Tanganyikan Lake set up 75 gallon: A. Baenschi trio,Cyanotilapia Afra Cobwe(4), copadichromis trewavase, protomelas sp. tangerine tiger(breeding pair) |

katieb Fish Addict Posts: 697 Votes: 69 Registered: 03-Jul-2004 | Misquito fish would reproduce too quickly for a 3 gal, and a paradise needs 10 minimum. Even though he posted in Coldwater, i have a feeling the 3 gal wont be outside, so the tank will probably be room temp(making it fine for a betta). I'll do graffiti, If you sing to me in French. |

As a quick excerpt: 2-3 gallon *1 Male Betta *1-2 Female Bettas (depending on aggression) *Trio: male guppies *Trio: male Endler's *Trio: small killifish *1-2 ADFs *Shrimp Possible Betta tankmates: Shrimp, ADF, snails There's a few options, as you can see. Some will require a heater or at least a stable climate of appropriate temperature. Good luck and have fun! ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

Think about their habitat in teh wild...no heaters in those little spouts of water puddles they live in! 72 gallon bowfront:Tanganyikan Lake set up 75 gallon: A. littlemousling Conchiform Posts: 5230 Registered: 23-Aug-2003 | Those "little spouts of water" are fields and fields of rice, in Thailand. It's pretty darned hot. In fact, it's so hot, and stagnant, that bettas had to develop labyrinth organs because there isn't enough oxygen in the water to sustain them. -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |
