A few beginner's questions | |

I've read some sites that are saying that I only need a filter if I feed the fish or keep koi (What?! ), and that I don't even need to feed the goldies if I have lots of anacharis in there. That just seems mean and wrong to keep a fish like that unfed and unfiltered... does anyone do this? Does it work? Also. I know fish can be wintered fine. But what about turtles, if I chose to have them? Can they even go with larger fish? |

Stick to what seems to have been your original plan BEFORE you were so misled as to what would be a proper set-up, it will be the best for your fish and your piece of mind as a pet owner!! |

If there is a limited amount of fish and a large enough pond, It is possible that you don't have to feed them. Mostly because the goldfish would eat natural things that fall in the pond or occur in the pond. Though as they get bigger it would become harder to maintain good health. So it is possible not to feed them but not reccomended. Also most of the tubs that have no filtration and no feeding occur with white cloud minnows and a lot of live plants. |
