I have wondered how harmful is it when I add water to my pond, if the water is 55F. I can't do anything about it since there is only one faucet to put in water with. The ponds about 900g

How much water are you adding? I don't think it has to be the same temp -- I mean, even if you put 100 gallons of icewater into a pond that's 50 degrees, there are 800 gallons that are still 50 degrees -- meaning that the overall temperature can't drop that much.
