I'm so excited, we managed to get some freshwater yabbies and put them into our koi pond.

During our clean-up on the weekend we found that they'd had babies, they are about 3cm long and sooooo cute!!! (well as cute as a yabby can be)

Never expected them to survive let alone breed, my husband works for a frozen food company and they actually sell them alive to restaurants so he snaffled a few for the pond.

Isn't that wonderful.

Hiya Babelfish,

I couldn't eat them, it just wouldn't be right.

They are very well behaved with the koi, and the koi dont bother them at all, the pond is large enough for them both.

I tried to take a picture but it wasn't very clear. I dont think i'll be able to find them again to get another one.

I'll try and auto correct the ones I have and see if that makes them a bit clearer.

Sorry, its not the best picture.

This is the pond where they live

Its looking a little bare as we had a BIG clean up. There are lots of rocks for them to hide amongst.

Oh my goodness! (okay is it wrong that I'm getting clucky over a yabbie!) they are cute !

That's really cool that they're well behaved together, I like having more than one thing in an environment, makes it that much more interesting and natural.

And no I was just kidding on the eating them idea .
