I don't like hill stream loaches they freak me out as they are snake like lol. My water stays quite temperate all year round never gets over cold or over hot. I did think about snails but not sure as not keen on them either

amethystbelle,
This for a tank, pond, bathtub ....and what type of algae are you having trouble with?
Personally I like my malaysian trumpet snails, and have them in all my tanks, never really had an issue with algae, but I'm not sure I can say it's all because of them .

i think amythyst is thinking of weatherloaches

Its for a tank but i don't want anything too big, i want something smallish. I could have been thinking of weather loaches as was in a hurry when i replied and probably wasn't thinking and got them mixed up so my mistake sorry :%) !

I have two japanese algae eaters and two pleco's in with five fancytail goldfish. Water is room temperature all year long 60 to 80 degrees. No problem and the glass is crystal clean.
