Does anyone know if an impeller AND the white ceramic (?) pin that the impeller revolves around on a Tetra Pond Dynamag pump is replaceable? For unknown reasons, my impeller turned to mush after sitting in storage for a few months. It looks like it rusted, but isn't an impeller ALWAYS wet???<br>Thanks in advance!

I'm sure you can, though I've never replaced parts myself...check petsmart, I know that they have a bunch of replacement parts and things of the sort on the "bagging table" by the fish department, or check with [link=tetra]http://www.tetra-fish.com/" style="COLOR: #FFFFFF[/link] hope you can...heidi michelle

Rust occurs even under water, so if there is enough wear on the SS shaft it can still rust. You should be able to get a replacement impeller from you lfs or from one of the many on-line stores.

The impeller can be replaced, as I've found. The thing I'm most concerned about is the white pin inside the impeller housing that the impeller slides in on, and which holds the rotating impeller shart in place during operation. That part broke off along with the corroded impeller shaft. I think it was attached to the back wall of the impeller hole, and as such, cannot be fixed or replaced. I've e-mailed the question to customer service at Tetra (this last weekend), but no response yet.
If anyone out there has a Tetra Pond Dynamag pump, or its' predecessor, please take yours apart and look at it, and let me know if the pin is attached to the back wall of the pump, or to the impeller.
Thanks!
