I am thinking about buying a pool to use as an indoor pond. The pool is 8 foot round by 26 inches deep. It's one of those plastic fill-up type pools. I would only fill the pool to about 18".

I would like to have either common goldfish OR fantail goldfish with golden zebra danios. I haven't checked into filters yet, so I can't give any info there.

What would be conservative stocking levels for these
setups?

Edit: Does anyone know how many gallons this pool would hold?

It's 8 feet across. And I've just figured out it would hold about 500 gallons when filled to just 18".

How many Cories would you put in that pond?

Alot! But if there was any kind of substrate they might be hard to notice, though. If there would be 10 GF and 10 danios I would say about 10-12 cories.

Red platies look amazing from above, and they are pretty hardy (just so you know).

After thinking more about this, I will be stocking really lightly. After all, a 100 gallon water change isn't something I want to be doing every week.

I will either go with just 5 fantail goldfish OR 18 emerald cories and 18 peppered cories. I plan on planting(heavily) the center on this pond only. I'm hoping that will allow me to get by with changing just 20% once a month.
