My dad went fishing and decided to bring home what he caught for his 55 gallon tank. One of these beeing a 13-15 inch bass. Now granted this fish is very awsome looking and i have kept bass and blue gills in this tank befor with great success. Hes just a little too big too live in there though. I saw at my local feed store a 300 gallon water tub. I was thinking this would be a more suitible home for such a large fish. I assume filtration is a must. But would the tub half to be burried in the ground. Because where i live digging isnt an easy task due to all the gihugec rocks in the ground. This is what has kept me from doing a pond so far. And i would put it in doors but i want plants in there. IM thinking maybe inside one of the sheds or in the barn might be more suited if i can't put it in the ground. Would flourecent shop lights work ok to grow plants inside it? Or would it be better off out side some where? I would prefer it out doors with sun light hitting it. Any thought on this matter? How much filtration would i need?

If your winter temps are below freezing you would need to dig in the pond lest it freeze solid. If you have high temps in the summer you need to have it in the ground to help keep it cool. Shop lights will work in doors if you get bulbs with the right light spectrum and have enough wattage to simulate daylight. I've kept bass and bluegills. Very cool.
