Sulking Goldfish | |
Babelfish Administrator Small Fry with Ketchup Posts: 6833 Kudos: 8324 Votes: 1570 Registered: 17-Apr-2003 | Well 4 days after his move to his nice new "pond" my goldfish is still freaking out everytime I come close to the tank. He's eating and otherwise acting normal, but won't come near me @all...he used to nibble peas right out of my hand and generally get in the way when I was trying to do tank maintenence. Anyone have ideas what might be stressing him out, or what I can do to make it up to him ?. T'anks in advance. ^_^ |

It took the goldfish in my old pond a month and a half to even tell I was the food guy. My theory is that your goldfish used to be able to see you coming through the glass and he would know it was food time and it was safe, now he's in an opaque box and doesnt really know what you look like from way down there and he has to identify you with other senses. Fish see left and right much better then they do up and down. He will eventually come back to being your best buddy, all he needs is time. I made sure he saw that bright red food cap that I always use when adding food to the tank, I think he recognized that . Didn't know they had better vision one way over the other. ^_^ |
