As a result, we ended up with a too-small pond with a lot of algae and water-quality issues. When we enlarged it, we spent a lot more time figuring out what we needed to do for our own particular setup. We made it five times bigger, made sure it would get a bit more shade, added a waterfall (for extra aeration) and a skimmer (because we live in on the edge of the woods and leaves and debris are an issue.) |
