They are a common goldfish, also known as a golden carp. [link=Here is their profile]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/goldfish.xml" style="COLOR: #EB4288[/link]. They grow to 2 feet and live 20+ years, and require a pond as they are very active fish. If I remember correctly the one pictured in the profile I linked to grew to 9 inches in two years since it was given plenty of room (pond) and a good diet.

Thanks

I'm am one of the beginner dummies that went and bought 3 common 2 shabunkin (sp?) and one black moor for a 10 gallon
1 shabunkin died shortly after I got him the others are doing great. I take very good care of the water and tank until the pond gets finished.

Sounds good Kay you lucky ducky, getting a pond and all!

I wouldn't call yourself a dummy, just uninformed. If the lfs had done what they should have, they would have asked you where you were going to place the goldfish. Now you know that most lfs just care about the sale and not the outcome. Keep yourself knowledgeable by researching this site and other info available before you buy fish in the future and you will be successful.

And welcome to FP. The best fish forum on the web.
