I was at one of my lfs, and think that they may have just gotten in an off batch of fish, some just didn't look right at all, and usually their tanks are in good shape... What really disturbed me was 2 tanks of goldies looking like dogs, excuse me, but rubbing their rears because of impacted anal glands...it's the only way i can describe it. They didn't seem able to swim too well at all, and this disturbs me, I like the occassional oddball fish like anyone else, but come on... So does anyone know what is wrong with these goldies, or is it do the how they were bread to this size the fins just won't do the job? Just curious, but know I didn't get anyreally you can ask Leslie I didn't, Heidi heidi attached this image: "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." Thomas Carlyle |

If it's diet related like constipation, sometimes feeding peas and cooked brown rice after fasting for a few days will help clear it up. These fish are usually really senstitive to nitrates in their water as well, even after you get their diet under control. If it's swimbladder, again, high nitrates tend to aggravate the situation, but they can live a long time like that. |
