My brother has a tank with goldfish in it. He doesn't want this anymore and i dont want gold fish. i have a mate who is after fish for a new pond. The tank wasn't heated or filtered cause he is slack. I assume this would be ok. just want to check

Goldfish really are pond fish, they grow to atleast 8" and as much as 24"(maybe longer). So, obviously, there is nothing wrong with moving them to the pond.

That would be perfectly fine for the goldfish as they are, like T/A said, pond fish.

You may want to slowly aclimate them as the water may be a little colder in the pond than in the aquarium.
