is this right, i think i heard this from somewhere.

that goldfishes will make family bonds, and after a few months when they settle, and form these bonds, if u add another goldfish in there, the already settled goldfish family will kill the new one.

Not IME true.

Had a 7" goldfish in an indoor pond for 9-10 months with 2 rosy barbs, added 3 under 2" goldfish in march. No harm done whatsoever.

There are some unusual beliefs out there. I don't think you need to worry about agression. I have never seen agression with goldies... vying for food yes but that isn't agression IMO.

A friend of mine once told me that she heard an odd # of fish in the tank is a prob and the fish will kill one off so there are even numbers...sounds like the originator based that on the fact that they couldn't manage to keep more than 4 fish at a time alive!

You are experienced so know adding stock is fine as long you have the tank space (dare I even broach that subject 'round the coldwater threads, It raises the passions) and the filtration can cope.

All the best for your tanks and fishy friends.

I used to keep goldfish, and the only time I have ever seen anything that resembled aggression in the tank was at breeding time, which can be quite brutal, and no matter how bashed up the female got (as she used to) she always made a full recovery
