terranova Fish Master Posts: 1984 Kudos: 1889 Votes: 229 Registered: 09-Jul-2003 | I think I've made a thread on this before, but I cant find it, so I'm going to write it again... We have family friends that live nearby which my family is very close too. Their daughter, (entering 7th grade, but not very mature ) won a goldfish at a carnival about 2 years ago now. The poor thing is in I'd estimate a 1 gallon bowl, with gravel and a plant. ]:| I can't even believe he's still alive. "Fishy" as its named, (original i Know) can barely turn around without its head or tail touching the bowl. I told them this was so unfair, but they tell me "No look he's happy he doesnt need a lot of room" THey do regular water changes, but geez! They have a 55 (i think) gallon community tank too. They are scared to move Fishy anywhere else b/c they think he's been isolated too long, and if they moved him in with other fish he would be too stressed and die. How can I convince them to give this guy a proper home? It's not like they dont have the money for another tank...and they could always bring him to a pet store, or I know of a friend who would gladly accept him into their pond. Which ideas would you guys go with? I feel so bad for this guy...but the father doesnt change his opinions on things and is stubborn so he's difficult to talk to. And if they are willing to sell it to you- all the better. I would just do it in a serious, matter of fact way, without making sure you make them feel bad or guilty. Or else they may get defensive. If it's a friend, and if it were me, I'd ask. Can't hurt. -Fish Friend |

Poor little guy, as much as I hate to say it though, I think he's prolly better off wherever he is now then where he was. I totally forgot about this thread which is why I didnt make that update.
