One of the mags, I think TFH, did a great article on indoor ponds recently. The basics are that you want it in the basement or the bottom floor, certainly resting directly on the foundation/concrete slab/whatever, not above a room or floor. It has to be either built and then lined or bought pre-formed. It must be covered or have high sides to prevent jumpers. For pond plants, a good bit of light will be necessary. Filtering takes plenty of forethought, as does reducing humidity - poisonous mold is NOT something you want growing in your house.

If you have small pets in the house a conver is a must. They tend to drown in the pond. RIP Riko.

Any sized pond a cover is a must IMO. Not only do you have humidity and evaporation issues, but additionally things fall in, and things jump out.

Umm whats the question

If your house is sinking it's going to not sink straight down likely and instead tilt to one side which would make it bad for any tanks in the house.

Not to mention bad for anyone living in it. "if" your house is sinking I suggest you guys get out ASAP!

I live in Florida...land of the sinkholes. People die in their sleep when the house all of the sudden collapses around them here.
