bettachris Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004 | my friends wants me to hold on to a few(about 5) koi that are about maybe 8 inches, now my aunt has a 315 gallon tank (she is not a fish person i just resently brought fish into my family) with about 5 koi in there already just until her pond in ready but can i add the 5 new koi with the other ones or are they like common goldfish that are protective and will attack new fish. |

Anyways, if it's THAt big, no worries, they may not even notice that there are new fish If it is actually 31.5 gallons, then i wouldn't recommend adding all five at once, considering that the tank is already over stocked and adding five more heavy waste fish at once would definitely cause a mini-cycle. |

Anyways, I definitely think you will be fine adding the 5 koi, the affect on the bioload will be negligable if they are small, and the other fish should accept them just fine. Just make sure to take your time acclimating them |
