my antie has three koi in a 40 gallon tank and she has about six inches of gravel in it and she hardly ever does a water change (lucky if she does one 1 every 3 months) now i have told her that she will have to do alot more water changes so what do you all think(i think they koi should be in a hell of a bigger tank my self)

a 40gallon is to small for goldfish let alone koi. a koi can grow to 3ft and produce a hell of a lot of waste. they should have 200+gallons each, they need a pond.

tell her to return them or build a pond. then buy some livebearers and tetras which are easyier to look after.
