i have a pond with 3 koi 3 comets 1 goldfish and we noticed that there were atleast 100 babies swimming in there so we caught arond 40 to 60 fish and put them in my 20 theyve been fine and are growing and arent afraid of anything. basically there are to kinds the first are yellow or a mixture of other colors (like koi) and the others are silver and dont exactly look like koi (they have a taller body)and recently two yellow fish have died the first was skinny so i thought it died of starvation(they are pretty aggresive at feeding time) and the second was stuck on the intake with its eye popped out on the side that was stuck to the filter and a a black patch near the back in or under the skin it was also skinny.my questions are

-what are the silver fish?

-why are they dying?

What's the ammonia, nitrite, and nitrAte readings on the tank.
Even if they're small still "40 to 60 fish" is way too much for a 20 gallon, even if you had alot of filtration.

What are you feeding them ?

You will have to do alot of water changes with having alot of babies in the tank, as feeding alone will mess the tank water up.If they are skinny it could be internal parasites, do they have stringy white poo.

Do u know how old these little fish are, or can u tell us how big they are. They may well not be getting the nourishment from what u r feeding them, babies just the same as human babies need small frequent feeds, and tip top water conditions. It would be helpful though if you let us know just how big they r, to give some idea of the age, so some one can give u advise on the kind of feeding they should have.
