I was thinking matbe to make a pond inside my house.
I don't have very big space for it..lets say it can be 2m long and 1meter wide..and 60 or 80cm deep...that will be 420gallons if i did it correct.
I defently want some goldfish...but i would also like some other fish that can be in that pond..any ideas?

I dont mean to steal your thread, but I have been thinking of doing the same thing with the extra space I have in my 5th floor flat, outside the window in the form of a parapet. I am thinking of clown loaches (I already have them in a tank inside the house), but the problem is they may not be able to stand the weather outside.

If you are thinking of pond fish, then goldfish and kois. Guppies and other small fish would also be fun.

I have a pond in my house ...little one for a rescued goldfish, also have a couple barbs in there as well....

Use a [link=stock tank]http://www.rcpworksmarter.com/rcp/products/searchresults.jsp?search=stock+tank&submitIt.x=0&submitIt.y=0&submitIt=submit" style="COLOR: #EB4288[/link]

I'm running an AC 300 (yes you have to cut the edge some) and a powerhead, if you have the money for a cannister that's probably easiest.

Possible, but remember, it grows to about 35cm in size. Also, are you planning to keep a heater in the indoor tank.

Babel, the stock tanks are a great idea, they will fit very well in my parapet, what a pity, the site that sells them, sells them in the US. I will have to get one done in India.

Depending on how large of a stock tank you use, and dependign on how much your air temperture swings in a 24-48 hour period you may not need a heater. A larger pond (100gal +) thats somewhere where the temp doesn't swing much and housing hardy fish like barbs and goldfish wont really need it.

Pitty I know clowny, figured with that link you might be able to find something similar somewhere. They're feed containters for livestock. The good thing about the rubbermaid ones is that they've been designed to withstand extremes in temperature without cracking....I know there are other companies out there that make them, just not sure on the strength of their plastics.

If your pond is going to be for gold fish, Why not add a trio of dojo loaches? They have the same requirements as goldfish, and are hilarious!

Something no one has mentioned is humudity issues. I have had an indoor pond in my last house and what a nightmare. Ponds have a lot more surface area than most tanks and since they are not convered with glass tops ir a hood of any sort, they put a lot of moisture into the air in the form of evaporation. Not only are you constantly topping off your pond with water but you are also potentially having dangerously high levels of humidity in the home unless you give adequate vcentilation or use a dehumidifier. In my case the excess humudity from the pond allowed for the growth of interior molds in my home which were dangerous for humans. I ran a dehumidifier 24x7. My lesson is learned, ponds belong outside unless adequately built into your home/planned for. Babel's pond is rather small for that kind of damage, so naturally it all depends on just how large of a pond you want to try and run inside.

Follow up on koi's point...
my pond is covered...specifically because of the humidity issue.... That and I was worried about jumpers.

I'm using a sheet of acrylic I bought from home depot, it's not perfect but it does cut down on the ammount of evaporation.
