Not currently but I have kept them in the past. Any specific questions? Hardest thing I have ever had to do was trim head growth

Any fancy goldfish can require cutting if they have headgrowths which may interfere with vision or eating. Just part of caring for them.

In the USA usually not. Our winters are too cold.

I have had a lionhead before and the "brain" didn't form
until he was quite big 4inc or so and still i never had trim his growth as it grew very very slowly but orandas can have a big growth when their 1inc and i have one and i'm guessing he's due for a trimming soon:%):%)

How would you go about trimming the growth, so that you don't harm the fish?

huh just saw this. I sedate the fish and use a pair of very sharp scissors. Preferrably those nail trimming/mustache trimming scissors that are tiny curved and sharp. Just snip and then I use a wound closer like johnsons that is water proof and way back when I used super glue. Stressful on the fish so watch it carefully and keep water conditions optimal

With clover oil or some kind of anesthetic. Its diluted on water, then the fish is transferred to water with a lower concentration of the anesthetic while doing the surgery.

I was thinking of trimming some of the growth over the eyes, but my big oranda is about to die... he has Dropsy caused by medications treatments because a stubborn disease... It was hard so the medication was hard enough to heal him but he couldn't make it past this... He might pass away in less than two months...
