Roquen Hobbyist Posts: 141 Kudos: 82 Votes: 0 Registered: 23-Feb-2004 | Hi all, my sister has one of those hexa fun tanks plastic with a UGF. Not sure what I should tell her to put in it? Im not sure the capacity until she brings it up in two weeks but just wondering what the best coldwater fish/species are for a beginner? Cheers! |

Bettas only require about a gallon of water which should recieve 50-100% water changes daily. No coldwater fish (ESPECIALLY goldfish) will fit in that sized tank. You'll be able to have one male betta, possibly a snail, or African dwarf frog, or a few shrimp depending on the temperment of the betta. ^_^ [hr width='40%'] And though it’s red blood bleeding from her now. It's more like cold blue ice in her heart. She feels like kicking out all the windows. And setting fire to this life." |

A little heater is quite inexpensive and a male beta would be soooooo rewarding. <insert wish-ga jealous pout here> A really small tank? I would put in plants and a few rams horn snails. They are great little guys. ~~~ My fish blow kisses at me all day long ~~~ |

I suggest a betta, some small killis, or the african dwarf frogs (ADF). I wouldn't go with female bettas, since I've never found any who won't get angry in small territories. |

Check to see that the fins have no signs of rotting and there are no bumps or spots. Also if you get a betta only feed it betta food. I found that Betta Bites are really good and healthy for the fish. |

Do you know what her house temp is day and night ? Depending on how much it swings you might not even need one. ^_^ [hr width='40%'] And though it’s red blood bleeding from her now.
