sorry it's kinda a douple post i had written in another forum but it should be here:
my neighboor know i had fish and so one day he was moving and asked if i wanted his fish, a 17 year tri fancy goldfish i think she is!!!! iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnn a 15 gal tank, with 2-3 inches of gravel !!!!! i nearly had a heart attack!!!! i tested the water and the ammonia was off the chart in just 3 drop of test solution!!!!! and the nitrites were off the chart of course!!! so i put her in a 5 gal bucket with a flu#2 ammo-carb media and changed the half the water three times a day for nearly a week and then i put her in my 20 gal tank that was an already established tank(by herself) all her fins are deformed so i still really dodn't know what she really is

the best thing to do is get her into a 55 gallon or something, to live out the rest of her life. nad make sure if they get another goldfish, get an outdoor pond.

i plan to give her to my friend that has a 300g pond, but as talking to my lfs he said that i should wait till the spring as the fish are now starting to getting into their winter hibernation faze she's been in an small tank in a house so i should wait till spring and then interduse her to the pond, to life out the rest of her life, along with my two surviver comets as now it would most likely be to cold for them to emtiately have to get used to. but for now unfortunatly she would be to much for my 90g, and my 55-60 gal has no top for now i do plan to put her in there , as soon as i get some glass to cover the top of the tank in the next week or soo

she's come along ways in the last 10 months i've had her, she's smart and gets all excited when i come close to her tank she knows if i'm feeding her pellets she'll swim away when she sees the jar(she'll eat them after they've fell to the bottom), and if i have the frosen bloodworm treat package she comes out of the water, and i have to hold the top down!!!! heeheee i'll probly cry when i have to give her up and put her in the pond
