hey every time i go into my room i find him sitting on the bottom of the tank. when he see's me he starts swimming around. but if i leave the lights off he just sits in one place and doesn't move. i have the tank at 80 degrees and im about to do i 30-40% water change. so whats going on? am i feeding him too much maybe? (one shrimp a day or as many snails until i notice his stomach looking poofy)

My guess is, if you leave the lights off he thinks it's night time and will try to rest. Give him a light cycle so he can differentiate day and night.
