Perky has helped me identify my "black shark" it is a black lancer!!! i am so relieved!!! I knew it had to be some sort of catfish. I told the lfs guy that and he told me I was wrong...i mean, if it looks like a catfish, then....

Welcome to the world of fish keeping. I and many others find it useless to argue with the LFS. Just arm yourself with more knowledge than they have and know that you know more than the guy making 7 bucks an hr.

Just by being a member here and doing your research you have already proven yourself in the fish world, and most of the fish you try will end up with a better life than they could have ever hoped for if sold to a newb with no clue.

I myself try lots of dif fish, and have had and have many dif fish. I you ever have a question feel free to Pm me and ask. If I don't know then I have no issues with directing you to someone who does.

Give you an indication how much of a bargain you got Michaelsa, here in the UK, that catfish would probably cost me £40. At current exchange rates that's $76 US. And you picked him up for $10? Way to go! /:'
