10 Gallon ? | |
cichlidiot Hobbyist Posts: 142 Registered: 14-Apr-2004 | Would it be too much of a bioload for me to put a small school(6) of either black neon tetras or glo-lite tetras with 5 ghost shrimp in a 10 gallon. The current filtration is an aqua clear 20 and a aqua tech 5-15, if that helps. Current parameters are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 0 nitrate . |

Because i dont think i have ever had my nitrates exactly at 0 unless it was right when i set my tank up. You might be able to get away with it but it might be pushing it. |

If you can find Amano shrimp and they're not too expensive, I would suggest them over the ghost shrimp. They're the best algae eaters the aquarium trade knows of. Also, any DW arrangements and plants you can add would be for the best. Real simple, find some DW and tie a couple pieces of anubias or java fern onto it. The fish and shrimp will love it, and it'll help fill out the tank as well. |

And just for those that are curious yes the tank is cycled and yes I did test and get those parameters. I do weekly water changes of 40 to 50 percent and am usually very sparingly in my feedings. |
