Ok, I want to try and cleanup and change around my 10 gal apisto tank this weekend.. Maybe even tonight. Goals 1. get rid of snails (filter will have to be carefully cleaned, it's a penguin biowheel mini. I am even considering hooking the filter into a 2.5 gal with potassium permanganate solution for 20 minutes, that is how bad I want these snails gone and not return) I will have to snail dip a few other things anywayz. 2. change the entire substrate to river rock pea gravel. I'm worried the gravel swap and filter wash would get rid of too much bacteria. If I take a sponge from my 40 gal and squeeze some mulm off if it into the 10 will that provide enough bacteria to avoid a mini-cycle ? (I do not have biospira) If I run the filter in the PP, I will rinse for a LONG TIME with extra dechlor. Please share your thoughts, thanks ![]() DaFish The Amazon Nut... |
