Oh i had a dwarf and he died yesterday i think of constipation because his stomach was big, i gave him peas but he didt eat it

How about live barers becuase my lfs has tons of helthy sword, platies, sailfins and guppys. And the lfs is right next to me and there hardy and helthy.

or, as the common man says: keyhole chichlid.
True, another great choice, but rams are more common and look better IMO

I think a ram or 2 would do fine with your bioload. it would definately be maxing it out though. Just make sure the tank stays clean and has good filtration.

Personally, I love rams. They are very attractive and full of personality. They are usually fairly peaceful but sometimes can be aggressive in some cases, such as when they breed.

2 is perfect, one fish by itself will get lonely

you should look at rams on the profile section of this website. Bolivians are bigger and have a yellowish color. Germans are more petite and have a brighter, blueish color. Really, if you compare pictures, it is not too hard to tell the differences.

bolivian rams are hardy, but german rams are not. I'm not saying rams are bullet proof, but if you are responsible, you should do ok.

Odd, I see absolutely no reason why you can not have a pair of bolivian rams. 2 rams and 7 neons will not overstock a tank at all. I don't know about the wood shrimp, they're big for inverts. But, I wouldn't have a problem with it. As for rams eating neons, the two species of fish share a symbiotic relationship in nature. The rams use the neons as guides. If the neons are active, the rams will assume the water is safe from predators. Thus, I would not think that the rams would eat the neons at all!

Thought about badis badis? or maybe a pair or one male Apistogramma cacatuoides? Or almost any Apistogramma provided it doesn't exceed your fish per gallon rule.

cichlids will always have some degree of aggression in them, but there are some species which are much more community friendly than others. rams and angels are always used as community fish, but they still have the potential to be aggressive fish. i still like the idea of a dwarf gourami, but the other suggestions are also good

Bolivian rams are very easy to care for and not too sensitive to water chemistry. I have a female in a ten gallon tank with a male betta and he's fine, so I don't think they're too aggressive, either. I'm not sure if I'd put one in with neons, but since they have smallish mouths I don't think he could do much more than nip them, and he'd have to be hungry to try.
German/blue rams are a little more finicky. But you could try a bolivian.

I'm so adjective, I verb nouns!

The shrimp add virtually nothing to your bio-load, so don't think that if you remove 3 shrimp that you can add 3 fish. 4 shrimp equal about the same as one small fish as far as waste production. Corys are also schooling fish like your tetras, so i don't think you have enough room for enough of them. The cherry barbs are a good idea, or some african dwarf frogs (maybe 2 of them) would be neat to have.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

I personally think a school of cories will overstock your tank. Your original idea of a centerpiece fish is probably best.
