Recently, a friend of mine had a 10g tank which he wanted to dispose of it. Unfortunately since the tank is small I do not know what I can stock it with and how many fish I can put inside it.

Hi,
Well you could have some of these:
1) 1 male betta
2) Cherry barbs
3) Endlers
4) Killifish
5) Paradise fish
6) Pygmy cories
There are for sure other fish you could have to...

I know human beings and fish can co-exist peacefully.

You have a number of options, it really depends on what's available to you and what you're interested in.

You might want to take a look at [link=this thread]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/General%20Freshwater/55574.html" style="COLOR: #FF66FF[/link] for more ideas.

Thanks for the info. So as not to be overstocked, does this mean I can have 15cm of fish in this tank (for tropical fish)?

Yes, you can have 12-15cm of fish, but not 1 big 12-15cm fish. You can have, like 10 Neons or Cherry Barbs. It's better to leave it understocked.

10 neons would be 25cm of fish. You can have atleast 35cm of small fish like small tetras or small live bearers or small corys. (Of the same sex)
