have u looked at various types of tetras?
they r very active n colourful fish

ive set up tanks that size with several types of tets in schools of 6-8 each
8 cardinals
6 rummynose
6 black phantoms
6 gold tets
maybe a pair of dwarf gouramies or rams
its a very impressing setup over a planted tank

Make a South American type tank, with lots of Tetra & Corydoras. You can also add a pair of Angels or Rams.

125 litres is only 30 gallons US .
If you go with tetras stick with the smaller sized ones, IMO schooling fish look more dramatic if you can have a larger school of small ones rather than a small school of larger fish.

What about some of the smaller cichlids? Or barbs?

Even though you have an Amazon jungle in the tank, how about Asian-themed fish? A school of harlequin rasboras, some sort of gourami, and a group of kuhli loaches. There are also quite a few nice barbs available which would work as well.

im open for any suggestions, i have rosy barbs and gold barbs already in my other tanks. oh and pentazona barbs.

i had thought about a school of cardinals but i think my lighting is too bright to make them stand out.

is 30 gal too small for angels?

I think you could have one angel as a centerpiece, some sort of schooler, and whatever bottom feeders you're interested in.
