I believe for 2 angels, you would need at least a 30 gallon tall. I'm not sure about the rest though....

First of all clown loaches get over a foot in length and like a nice group of buddies, so i deffinately wouldnt put them in there. Five angels is waaay too many for a 20 gal hex....i would go with maybe 1. As for swordtails, i would stick with one or two males.

Welcome, there are tons of other options open to you so dont give up

5 Angels in a 20Gal. Do not do it. No way.
Forget the Clown Loaches aswell, they get too big for that tank.
You can get a pair for Rams & some Tetra's.

The shark is also too big for a 20 gallon. Maybe you could have just 2 angels, and have a species tank. Otherwise, I would go with 1 angel and 2 rams.

2 angels is really too much for a 20 gallon. What about:

1 angelfish
6 small corys or 1 bristle nose and 3 otos
6 small tetras or harlequin rasboras

Do you like that idea?

"6 small corys or 1 bristle nose and 3 otos"

I wouldnt do 1 BN and 3 otos. All 4 produce a ton of waste and a 20 gal hex has less capacity than a reg. 20 gal.

If you want bottom feeders try 6 cories, one bn, or 3 otos

Personally i would have either a BN or 3 otos. Both are poop machines, and i dont think your bio-load could handle it all. One angel may work.

Try this:

1 Angel (?)
6 small to medium tetras
3-5 otos or One BN
1-3 Male Platies

I would go for one or two schools of tetra and cories, and a BN for algae control.

Five angels and two clowns are really too much for a 20g hex. Maybe two angels, if small, and if you plan to move them elsewhere, and some Serpae Tetras (nice color) and maybe some Harlequin Rasboras. Definitely not clown loaches. They like a long tank, and a hex would not do. Also, maybe some diamond tetras? Let us know what you decide and good luck
