My 29g currently has a BN, 3 gold barbs, my blue acara/green terror hybrid, and my severum. This was only a temporary home for the hybrid and sev; they'll be moving into my 75g.

I like the gold barbs and was thinking of increasing the school to 6. Being a tall tank I'd also like to add an angel.

Would this combination work? If not, any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Theresa,

Your options are almost endless

Adding 3 more Gold Barbs (Puntius sachsi – not Puntius gelius, right?) to the 3 you already have seems to be a good idea. I never had this fish but I also have never heard that they would be considered nippy, like Tigers. based on this I wouldn’t know why an Angel shouldn’t go with them.

How is the tank set up? Any plants or caves for hiding? How about driftwood?

I really like my cherry barbs a lot in my 29. So, you could add some of these guys....they're the neatest fish to watch. Their courting behavior is fascinating and the males turn the most gorgeous shade of red when they go after the ladies.

If the Gold Barbs are nippy, don't add the Angel.
Cherry Barbs are very nice & have great colours.

Just a suggestion, but what about some lemon tetra to go along with the angle?
