I just got a 2.5 gallon tank today. will a couple of cherry barbs work or do they need to be keep in schools?

Also can 2-3 male guppies work if the cherry barb idea doenst work?

please read this thread, almost the same, if u aren't looking for a betta, then maybe one - 2 male guppies will work.

in any of my lfs there isnt any killiefish. so would 2 male guppies or 2 cherry barbs work?

I'd go with the cherries. They're peaceful, almost shy, and do well in pairs rather than in schools. Nicely planted and you'll have a good looking tank
