Two tanks, a 20long & a 55G. The stock I have is:
Currently in 55
1 Blue Gourami(3.5" ) -
1 Gold Gourami(3" )-
1 Paradise Fish(2.5" )-
3 Bolivian Rams (2" )-
3 Dario Loaches(2.25" )
1 BN(3.25" )
1 Bulldog Pleco(5" )
4 Cherry Barbs(1.25" )
7 Zebra Danio's(1.5" )
1 RTBS(2.25" )

Currently in 20
5 Lemon Tetras(1" )
5 Emerald Cory Cats(1" )
1 Whiptail Catfish(1.25" )
From the list of fish, what would be the best makeup for each tank, or is it already set as well as possible? I really need some color in the 20. I'm willing to move the stock around to best utilize what I have.

I'd leave the 55 alone.

For the 20 I'd add 5 cardinal tetras or neon tetras...they seem to be from the same area, and are both peaceful...usually easy to find...

that should stock it...anyone know any reason not to add them?

o now that i read it.(lol) um. i think the set ups are fine. as for the color issue. i don't think it is nessary. if these tanks are by eachother then it looks really nice , one being a colorful tank, the other beinga more natural tank. but if u really want to make it colorful in the 20 try getting neons, etc.

I would just swap the Cherry Barbs into the 20 and the Lemon Tetras into the 55. Then if you'd like to, you could even add a few more Cherry Barbs to the 20.

Feed the Lemons lots of live food and colour flake. Then you won't need to add anything to colour up the 20. Because your Lemons will be bursting with sunshine yellowness.

Thanks for the input everyone, I'm gonna leave the 55 alone, however, I just feel like somethings missing in the 20. Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe a Betta, or a pair of dwarf gouramis. Maybe even some dwarf cichlids. I really don't wanna put in another school like neons, IME two similar schoolers interupt each other & then all u get is fish scattered thruout the tank. Thats the reason I took the Lemons out of the 55 & into the 20 B/C they & the Danios seemed to interupt each other.

I've got Lemons mixed with Cardinals and Beckford's Pencils. I don't experience any aesthetic problems of the sort you mention!

Add some neons or cardinals (they are quite similar, cardinals having more red than neons) and this will add the color you are looking for...But don't add the Beta, you could experience some nipping problems. Heidi

As an alternative, try Rosy Tetras. They're lovely. My LFS has a particularly fine batch, but if I wnated them, I'd need a 3rd aquarium, and my budget won't run to that at the moment (sigh) ...
