I just went to feed my fish and noticed that some fish are gone.I looked all over for an hour or two..i just can't find them.
The only thing is that maybe they got stuck somewhere in the driftwoods or the stones..So i think i have to remove everything to find them.
My missing fish are:3 cories and a adult guppy

that is strangemods if i end up with two posts i swear i didn't mean to

I believe you said that you had driftwood in the tank, right? If so, my bet is that your missing corries are hidden deep inside of it:%)

Corries are just that way...if they have decided to hide then they are going to hide and you won't ever find them till they are ready toand there is no amount of shaking, wiggling, jiggling, or cussing that will cause them to come out till they are ready, trust me, my albino BN only came out of the driftwood after I was filling the bathtub with water to rinse it off, then suddenly it was like, oh let's scare the snot out of mom and swim around the bathtub

Keep an eye out, they will reappear or you will find some kind of remains (sorry if you do:#() That's why I do do nightly/daily head counts, but if I'm missing 1 or 2 corries tonight I'll look for them again tomorrow...And while I'm counting neons tonight and albinos, tomorrow it may be harlies and green aneous (sp?)

Relax they will show back up...heidi

If you have dark gravel, cories camoflage very well against it. Except albino ones, obviously.

They could be hiding especially the BN and if there was any deaths the Hoplo would certainly deal with that.

I would guess if the hoplo has any size to him that he could of done it or if they died then they were probably cleaned up very quickly.

How big is your tank? Have you looked AROUND the tank or in the filter?

Some fish are just naturally good hiders. I couldn't find an albino BN (a very young one) in a ten gallon tank with dark decor. He SHOULD have stuck out like a sore thumb, but it took me 10-15 minutes to locate him! In a ten gallon! Yeesh!

In any case, you've got a number of fish that could have eaten any bodies. However, I've never seen a fish eat a cory... too well armored. You'll probably find SOME sort of remains if they did die. Keep an eye out, though, it's likely that they'd just hiding well!

~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~

Yikes, that stinks

Are you sure they're missing? I know sometimes when I try to count my harley rasboras I always mess up because they're always on the move. They could just be hiding, but it certainly can't hurt to move those pieces around and check. Keep us posted.
