Hello,
would it be possible to have:

2 clown loaches
2 angel fish
1 common pleco
8 rummynose tetras
4 sparkling gouramis
3 freshwater flonders
7 ottos

in a 55 gallon tank with a fluval 304 or 404 cannister filter sand bottom and heavily planted

Sounds good except for the flounders... They are very difficult to care for, and many species are actually brackish as opposed to freshwater. In captivity, most die within their first month and the rest rarely survive their first year.

If you are lucky enough to have them survive for a couple years in your tank, then you will soon find that your rummies will slowly disappear, one by one, during the night. That is because flounders are predators, and although they prefer creatures living in the sand (they require sand), they will eat small fish as well.

Basically they are pretty much a waste of money...

Bump up your clown loach numbers to three or four. They get large, but you should be able to have them in that tank for 4-5 years before you would have to upgrade your tank or give them away, due to the fact that they are slow growers.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

I think your common pleco will get really big fast. I had one and it grew 5-6inches in 1 yr I would suggest bristole nose pleco. These guys do great at algae eating and they don't grow really big.

Gee

Edit:When common plecos get big they start to uproot plants(mine did that and it is really anoying)

You're going to have to give him away eventually... They reach 18" and get much too large for a 55 gallon tank.

Or you could get a bigger tank in the near future. They need a 100 gallon tank bare minimum, but I personally would not put them in anything less than a 120...

You can get a bigger tank for your Pleco, or else exchange him with a BN. Eliminate the Flonders & add 2 more Clown Loaches.
