I want to make my 55 gallon into a community tank. I want to have some tiger barbs in there so i was thinkng of aroud 10 or so, is this too much? Can I put cories in there and guppies or platies also? If not what bottom feeders would you reccomend? Also if its no for the live bearers what else would you reccomend for a community tank?

Tiger barbs and guppies won't work out for you. The tiger barbs will shred the guppies nice finnage. Tiger barbs are semi aggressive, and would therefore need other somewhat aggressive tankmates.

I would go with Tiger Barbs & some Loaches, as bottom feeding fish.

you could go with all three spieces of tiger barbs the regular tiger barb, the green tiger barb and the albino tiger barb, say this last year in a 100gallon in a hotel in Saskatchewan Canada and it looked really cool
