I was thinking about filling it with either africans or rainbows anyone have any ideas? |

Anyone have any fish combinations for my 65 for either or both of these fish categories. |

They're generally more colourful (I've had people mistake my african cichlid tank as Salt Water. )I also prefer the african cichlids because they're more active and entertaining to watch. They're always swimming about and interacting with each other. It's also cool feeding them from my hand. ![]() |

A SA setup would be nice, with Angels or Discus, Tetras, Rams & Corydoras. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Mbunas would look great with all that space if you can safely stack the rocks 18 or so inches high, or if you did a Tang setup, you could have cave dwellers on the bottom and six or so Cyprichromis (just not the "jumbo" ones) in the upper levels. I've recently set up a 65 for the sake of my pleco who was rapidly outgrowing and messing up my 30 gal planted tank, and I've decided it's perfect for angelfish. You can have maybe 6 of them in a tank that large; fewer if you intend them to spawn, though. It's also a great size tank for some of the larger gouramis such as kissing gouramis, or a few males and a bunch of female blue, pearl, or snakeskin gouramis. Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean... |

But how should I choose between malawi or tanganiykan cichlids, or even ones from lake victoria for that matter??? Im new to Africans and have only had various South and Central American cichlids before. Is there any traits that are generally acquired to the fish from the different lakes? And what would bea good number of fish and what types? Sorry for asking so much bu i dont want to make any mistakes here. |
