| 7 gallon: Betta and african dwarf frogs? | |
Vic711![]() Small Fry Posts: 14 Kudos: 9 Votes: 0 Registered: 02-Jan-2005 ![]() | I have a 7 gallon fully cycled planted minibow tank, and I'm interested in adding 1 male betta, and also some african dwarf frogs. My filtration is an aquaclear 150 turned all the way down to what probably is 75GPH (is this ok?) I have hagen natural CO2 system and lots of plants. How many african dwarf frogs can I keep with the betta? Maybe 3 or 4? Can I keep a cory catfish in the tank also? thanks ![]() |

The Cories will likely end up losing pieces of their tails during feeding time. I'd go with the 1 Betta and 3 ADFs in that size tank. Just to warn you ahead of time, the Betta might have a problem with the filter. Some will get pulled into the intake and others will not enjoy the powerful outflow. There are ways to solve these problems. So if you notice either of those things happening, just ask and you'll recieve a few solutions. ![]() |

Maybe you could have a pair of betta girls if they arent aggressive toward one another. Edit: I misread your post, 4 or 5 is a good number. Watch your parems though. If perimeters are good, then by all means fill it up! EDIT: according to katie, I didn't sound like a jerk, so I willl stop playing around with this post Last edited by djtj at 16-May-2005 16:36 |

(except towards blood worms) Although a frog may attack a betta it is not really an "attack", as ADFs are nearly blind and the betta probably just smells good to them I'd be more worried about a betta attacking the frogs. But, then again, a frog can and will defend itself, but it won't be the agresser, on purpose! If you get a laid-back betta, or female(s) I wouldn't worry too much at all. Just use common sense, and you'll be fine. |
