Hi, I was wondering if anybody knew how many watts an air pump should be for a 90 gallon aquarium?

Thanks!

Hi, and welcome to FP

Ask a question, and receive a question in return - what do you want to do with the air pump - run a bubble wand of some kind?

On a tank that large, maybe something like the Rena 400?

It has two output tubes so that you don't need to run a split. Should work pretty well on a 90g, I would think.

Hi,
I haven't used an air pump in over a decade,
love those power heads! However, as I recall,
the containers for the bubble wands (12 inch
air stones) had something on them that recommended a
minimum air requirement. You should be able to look
at the boxes that they come in and then look at the
boxes the pumps come in and make that decision based
on the pump output and the stone's requirements.

Two 12ins air stones that is huge for a tank that size. Are you actually calling the small air wands (fine thinner and flexable) air stones.

If you are not and still want to use the air stones I suggest see if you can locate the creamic ones they are far more costly but require very little cleaning. My ceramic stones are well over 15 years old and still in perfect order.

Getting back to the Air pump get a Rena and the largest you can afford as I think you will require it.

Have a look in [link=My Profile]http://
