| Air stone in a overstocked 29 gallon freshwater??? | |

Also, the action of the bubbles breaking agitates the surface which also promotes gas exchange, making for a more oxygenated tank Airstones are also bad if you have a heavily planted tank, as the CO2 will be driven out tha the plants like Also, for labyrynth fish such as bettas and gouramis, the constant agitation would make it hard for them to build a nest and have babies.So, it depends on the situation. In yours, it's probably fine. |

Do lots of samll water changes. Make a schedule where you change 2-3 or gallons every other day and stick to it (thats the hard part) |

Once it starts to get too much of a work load you could loose interest very quickly and finally loose all your fish. See if a LFS will take the extra fish of place an add here in FP. reun![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Big Fish Posts: 332 Kudos: 216 Registered: 04-Nov-2005 ![]() | well,at a later date i will most likely give away or sell the BN pleco if i decide not to get a larger tank. honestly, would a 2.5" bumblebee cat full grown,6 corys(2" full grown each) and 8 tiger barbs really be overloading a 29 gallon? right now only the bumblebee and 1 of the corys and 2 ob the tiger barbs are truly full grown, everything else is still a baby. pleco is less than 2",the albino and other tiger barbs are about 1",and the other corys are 1"-1.5"... i have a over the back 50 gallon filtration system,air stone,and i do 20% water changes a week. no ammonia levels at all... |
