female
25 gallon planted tank consisting of:
1 clown loach
1 pitbull pleco
2 albino cory's
3 female betta's
5 flying foxes.

I bought the pleco for the algae, then i bought the flying foxes for the alage, then i planted the tank for the algae, then i upgraded to a 68 watt compact fluerescent to make my plants stronger for the algae. The algae's gotten worse its dark green and hard to scrape off the glass. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

are you overfeeding the fish? too much waste in the water will cause algae to go nuts.

also clowns get wat to bg for a 25g and need to be in a group of at least 6. i would take him back to the shop.

reduce your feeding and the amount of time the lights are on for, 8hrs max should be fine even with plants.

Hi,
It sounds like you have what is called "Green Spot Algae."
Check out this site:

[link=http://www.otocinclus.com/articles/algae.html]http://www.otocinclus.com/articles/algae.html" style="COLOR: #FF00FF[/link]

This should help. It sounds like you have an imbalance
of nutrients in the tank that gave the algae the upper
hand. Water changes, keeping your lights on for no more
than 10 hours/day, and vacuuming the non planted parts of
the substrate should help get rid of the stuff.
