Hi,

What a holiday season this has been. On the 18th of dec, we had to kill our first baby plattie that was born here, exactly one year before. Charlie had tuberculosis and not much could be done about him. He was already "twisted" and swimming with a great deal of effort. My wife and I were quite sad. After thinking about it, we decided to get rid of most of our "Tropical Paradise" tank fish except for the loaches, the pandas (cory) and 2 angels.

Nature is balanced and does take care on it's own. Some die and some are born. Few days after we had to kill Charlie, goldfish eggs that I collected hatched and out of 4 hatchlings, 2 made it through. They look strong and healthy and are gaining by the day.

2 days ago, I noticed a weird looking leaf in my "less populated" tropical tank. I assumed that some food was stuck on it and did not give it a second thought. It's only yesterday that I noticed that the "food" was still there. Weird, I said to my wife. I then got close to check it out. EGGS ! Again... Now we have angels on the way. You should have seen us. We were like happy-sad at the same time. We do not have another incubator tank so the Angel eggs are in a 1g bowl now with a bubble stone and a heater. We just hope that the baby goldfish will thrive and grow quickly now so that we can transfer them in their final home ( 60 gal tank ) so that we can use the incubator tank for the Angel hatchlings... provided they do hatch.

So no, nothing is quiet on New Year's day... it's buzzing with new life, celebrating mother nature!!!

Happy new year to all!!!

Well, good luck with the angel fry, do you think they were fertilized? How big is your incubator tank? It might be helpful to put some methylene blue in with those eggs so they do not fungus up.
