I got a new 29 gal tank and im looking to put an angel fish. What else would go with him? How about a redtail shark? Im open to suggestions.

Tetras, corys, Barbs. There's heaps of fish that can go with Angels.

I don't think a RTB shark would be good. Only because they grow quite large and they'll need a larger tank.

I thought tetras were not a good mix? What about black neons?

most tetras are alright with angels. Try and avoid the nippy tetras though.

Black neons would be a good choice.

Except the Angel might munch the Neons once it grows. Go with something a little bigger.

Have fun, Mike

Black "neons" get much larger and deeper bodied than true neons, so they are in no danger of getting eaten by the angels.

I wouldnt keep barbs in with angels, barbs are famous for their agressive fin nipping.

Some tetras also nip too, like serpes.

DONT keep them will swordtails, they will nip the angles to death (happened to us with 6 7-8 year old angles that we raised from fry )

some barbs are notorious for nipping, like tiger barbs, but many are as placid as the most peaceful tetras, for example cherry barbs. Cherry barbs would be an excellent choice for that tank. Black neons would also be great!

Hate to tell you this, but that 29g is too small for an
Angel. I have one in a 46g and it's too small.

Rams are great fish, I have three, but the water conditions must be excellent. You must do alot of water changes. 20% per week minimum. A good fish that is more harder would be a bolivian ram. Better size then a blue ram and will fit in your 29g.
