How many tiger barbs would I have to get, to stop them nipping the fins of two anglefish? 6? 7? 8?

personally I wouldn't put tiger barbs in with angels, those long fins are way too much temptation.

I don't think that Angels & Barbs would work. Barbs are known to nip fins & Angels would be a great temptation.

I've kept 3 tiger barbs with an angel before. It worked fine Then again the tiger barbs were only about half an inch when I first got them, the angel was about half dollar size, and they were in a 55g tank, and there were plenty of plants in the tank that the angel and the tiger barbs loved to hang out in - away from each other. So I have to ask you: what size tank do you have, what size tiger barbs will you plan on getting, and how big are the angels? With the right conditions, you shouldn't have a problem.

Voted for: Dump the Angel and get more Tiger Barbs

tiger barbs are just way cooler angels are a bit wimpy and boring IMO.....I probably wouldn't mix em....if you got an aggressive angel it would defend itself, but a lot of LFS ones are really wimpy and wouldn't do anything if the tiger barbs decided to snack on some fins :88)

I don't think I would mix them either. However, if you do try make sure you have somewhere you can move either the barbs or angel to just in case there is trouble

Thank for the advise! Im gonna 10 get tiger barbs, instead of the 2 angels. Im probably gonna get like five moss green and 5 normal. So is 10 tiger barbs, 1 red-tailed black shark and 1 bristle-nosed overstocking? Could I have some ottos and/or corys? Any other fish you can think of that would go well with this community?

I think the larger school of barbs is a better idea

As far as being overstocked, what size tank is it?

Hehehe ... thanks! Ok, so its now 11 tiger barbs, 1 red-tailed black shark and 1 bristle-nosed pleco. Still, I need to know if that's overstocking for a 41 gallon tank (155l)!
