My brothers angelfish have laid eggs. They are in a community tank with neons and cories. Is there much of a chance for the fry once they have been hatched? There is an internal cartridge sponge filter in the tank. Would this kill a few fry? Would the fry survive in a tank that has no/little filtration? I have a spare tank but it has a cannister filter & it hasnt been cycled. |

The parents will take care of them & keep the Neons away, but you might lose a few fry. A sponge filter is ideal with fish fry as it doesn't suck the fry. Cycle the other tank & put a sponge filter & try to catch the Angel fry when they are free swimming. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

I'll get a sponge filter & cycle it in a cycled tank & move the fry & filter when they are ready. Thanks for the quick advice. |
